First On Scene
Tuesday 15th May 2012 saw the launch of First on Scene, a partnership project between public safety partners, to give young people the skills to save lives should they ever be First On Scene at an accident.
The programme has four key themes - water safety, alcohol, road accident and unconsciousness - and uses a mixture of videos, presentations and discussions for young people to teach them what to do in these emergencies.
Grampian Fire and Rescue Service is one of the project partners and is represented on the First On Scene project by Banchory Retained Watch Manager Roddy Lees. Roddy was recently the proud recipient of a Volunteer of the Year award for his part in the project.
